These Dickow KMB magnetic-drive centrifugal pumps were dispatched to Speyside in the North-East of Scotland, renowned as a premier region for Scotch whisky production.
The pumps are part of a multi-million-pound investment by one of Scotland’s leading whisky producers. Although they will not intended for pumping whisky and thus do not require hygienic ratings, they are designed to handle high-temperature condensate in a clean environment designated as ATEX zone 2. Consequently, the pumps are made of 1.4408 stainless steel for exceptional corrosion resistance and are seal-less to prevent leaks. Their close-coupled design optimises space usage in the production area.
There are four KMB h 40/125 pumps with 2.2 kW motors, providing flow rates of 20 m3/hr, and four KMB h 50/125 pumps with 3 kW motors, providing flow rates of 38 m3/hr.
