FTI Ultrachem Pumps supplied for wet scrubber project

We were delighted to assist one of the UK's leading air pollution control companies with one of their major projects. We supplied a selection of Finish Thompson pumps for installation in one of their industrial gas cleaning system, commonly known as a wet scrubber.

These systems require robust equipment capable of handling aggressive chemicals like sodium hydroxide and sodium chloride, both in their initial form and after exposure to flue gases—when they may become more concentrated or chemically complex.

For the main scrubber recirculation units, we specified seal-less magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps from the Finish Thompson Ultrachem range—a reliable solution for challenging environments. With ETFE-lined ductile iron casings, and close coupled to 37kW 2-pole motors, these units deliver an impressive 150 m³/hr at 40 m head.

No chemical installation feels complete without a trusted model from the Finish Thompson DB series. In this project, two DB15P polypropylene mag-drive centrifugal pumps were selected for NaOH transfer, paired with 3 kW 2-pole motors to deliver 11 m³/hr at 20m head.
